I am thrilled to have two images shortlisted for The Photojournalism Prize. The images were all taken during protests organised by Defend Our Juries where hundreds of people were arrested for supporting the proscribed group Palestine Action. Whilst they were entered as singles, each image tells a different part of the story of these protests.

A protester is arrested at a Defend Our Juries demonstration in Trafalgar Square, London, 11 April 2026. Despite a High Court ruling in February 2026 that the proscription of Palestine Action was unlawful, the Metropolitan Police reversed an earlier decision not to make arrests, resuming detentions for those declaring support for the group. Many of those arrested have been detained multiple times for the same offence.
